The 2026 harvest has definitely validated our decision to create resilient vines by focusing on soil and plant health! An incredibly dry and warm growing season has resulted in small bunches and tiny berries – the resulting intensity and concentration already evident in the young wines finishing fermentation in the cellar.
We had the privilege of being part a historic occasion in the South African wine industry – the 50-year celebration of Meerlust Estate wines.

I didn't have any experience of presenting a wine before my first week of work placement at Wine.co.za, where I was asked to present a new red blend wine pack to their team as a blind tasting.
This was the first time that the auction was held on one day only and seasoned auctioneer David Elswood did a sterling job keeping it fresh and interesting even though it went over time by about an hour.
