It has been a few years since Tim awarded his sought-after points and it was a busy place at One&Only Cape Town yesterday as each of the 195 wines who had achieved a score of 95+ from Tim Atkin (MW) for his 2022 South Africa Special Report were available for tasting.

Tim visited South Africa a few times during this year and tasted 2 228 wines! Just over 8% achieved 95 points and above - and it is very apparent that South African Wines are on the up and up - with quality being a strong point.

It was an impressive set of wines available to taste - and also to acknowledge and applaud those who stood above the rest.

A poignant moment it was when Tim Atkin honoured Kevin Arnold as Winemaking Legend... Certainly well deserved.

A delight to see Tim and the tall Duncan Savage together - Tim really is quite short and of course Duncan is not - so we had fun with pics of them with Tim on the box and off the box!
