Decomposed granite mixed with clay
VINIFICATION
The different cultivars were fermented separately in steel tanks for 7 to 8 days till dry. After malo-lactic fermentation the wines were blended in a ratio of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc. Once blended the wine was matured in 300 litre Nevers oak barrels for 18 months- 80% new wood and 20% second-fill casks. After bottling, the wine was further matured for 24 months before release.
TASTING NOTES
Very intense, almost black ebony in colour. Lifted black fruit nose with high toned spicy and mineral notes. Palate is full bodied, intense and rich with silky, viscous tannins and very long aftertaste.
