Decomposed granite mixed with clay
VINIFICATION
The juices were left to ferment on the skins for 7-9 days. After skin removal the wines underwent secondary malo-lactic fermentation in tanks. The wine was blended in a ratio of 66% Cab. Sau. 22% Merlot and 12% Cab. Franc and was matured in new Nevers oak barrels for 18 months. Bottle maturation for 24 months.
TASTING NOTES
Intense opaque ruby core with gradation to ruby rim. Powerful black cherry, cassis and cedar nose, with hints of curing tobacco. Rich, textured mouth feel with core of black fruit, spicy oak and silky, savoury tannins. Intense minerality on the finish.
