no image of meerlust cabernet sauvignon 1984 available

SOIL TYPE

Decomposed granite mixed with clay

VINIFICATION

The juice was allowed approximately 10 days’ skin contact. After the first fermentation in open and steel tanks, the wine underwent a secondary malolactic fermentation. This wine was then matured for 18 months in small casks of new French oak in the maturation cellars on the estate. This was followed by a period of 24 months’ in-bottle maturation.

TASTING NOTES

A classic, deep ruby-red wine of subtle fullness. It has the complexity and elegance of a well-bred Cabernet. Naturally, it offers great ageing potential.
