Meerlust

On 27 March, in Verona Italy, the Roll of Honour Award was awarded to Hannes Myburgh owner of Meerlust Estate. In keeping with the tradition of the award, now in its 11th year, it is presented to personalities in the wine industry whose contribution to the wine industry internationally has been significant.

Hannes Myburgh, the eighth generation owner of the Meerlust Estate, says “This is a wonderful acknowledgement for our team at Meerlust who are very passionate and committed to the Estate. We are very proud of this award.”

At the award ceremony, Mr. Luigi Castelletti, President of Veronafiere, said “Meerlust Estate, a prestigious and ancient land-holding founded in 1693, 5 km from False Bay in South Africa is today distinguished by very high quality production. Following the success achieved by the launch of Bordeaux blend in 1984, the company grew over the years to become an undisputed world leader”.
